Setting Menu Item's Stock
There may be reasons to set stock or out-of-stock on menu items. It's not typical, but if there is a limited quantity, you may want to set a limited stock on specific items so customers don't purchase more than you have on hand.
How to set a menu item as Out of Stock:
- From the dashboard, click the Menus button on the left of the screen.
- Click on a menu.
- Click on the category, and located the menu item.
- Menu items are displayed in rows. Click the Stock button on the right-hand side of the row for your chosen menu item.
- In the dialog that pops up, enter 0 to mark the menu item as out of stock.
- Click OK.
How to adjust the inventory level of a menu item:
- Follow steps 1-4 above to locate the dish/menu item.
- In the dialog that pops up, enter the inventory level of the menu item as a numerical value representing the number of items you have on hand.
As customers purchase items, the number of items will automatically adjust the inventory quantity. This prevents customers from buying more than inventory on-hand.
How to turn off stock management for a menu item:
- Follow steps 1-4 above to locate the dish/menu item.
- In the dialog that pops up, remove any number in the dialog and submit the form blank.
This will remove all stock management for this menu item and the stock will available for purchase again.
